I commute to work appx. 8 miles a day. I am currently using a backpack that is too wide (front to back). Can anyone recommend a thin, appx. 4 to 5" wide backpack. (Saddlebags WON'T work on my bike). '
axio backpack they perfectly made for ridding. also you can fit a 17 inch laptop on the new model and on the older model from last year you can fit a 15inch laptop. they are more price then most backpack but trust me is worth the price i had the same problem.

How-to restore leather motorcycle saddlebags?
I was told by an "expert" biker familiar with leather restoration to saddlesoap then neetsfoot, then mink oil them. any feedback?
Neetsfoot is great stuff it will hydrate the leather . You won't really need to soap it as the neetsfoot will remove the dirt as you rub it in. The mink oil will help to make the leather more water resistant.

For example if you weight 250lbs and still fit comfortably in one seat without disturbing, or making it unconformable for other passengers, is it fair to charge an extra fee? And who is to decide how much the standard weight should be? Are people going to be weighed along with their luggage?
Since the cost of operating a flight is directly related to the weight of the airplane, it would be perfectly fair to charge passengers according to their weight (Ryanair, are you listening?). However, it might not go over very well from a public relations standpoint.
In the early days of air travel, each passenger was weighed before boarding, because an accurate weight is required for the airplane before take-off. That didn't go over very well, either, so eventually aviation authorities allowed airlines to use estimated "average" weights for everyone. It's less accurate (and on a few rare occasions it has caused problems), but more politically correct.
