I have found a kit to change a Busa into a sport touring bike, it has a back rest for my girlfriend and beetle bags on the sides (which will give her more leg support). I know I would be able to suck it up on a long trip, but do you guys think that she would be comfortable riding from VA to Canada? or 22 hours over 3 days O and let it be known that she wants to ride a sport bike. haha.
If you're talking about the stuff made by Corbin I'm all for it. I have an '07 gsx-r750 and I wish they made a back rest for my model. They make one for the '04-'05 models but not mine. My girlfriend road on the back of my dad's cruiser and she pretty much now hates my bike because she knows that there are much more comfortable bikes out there. I definately think they make the busa look pretty slick with those "beetle bags". They do a real good job of incorporating the lines in with the bike. If I had a busa that's definitely what I would get, and that back rest would definately make any rider about a hundred times more comfortable on any long ride! I say go for it! i have found some cheesy universal saddle bag supports. i was wondering if there is one specific for my bike.
I just bought a 2008 V-Star 250 this weekend and asked the same question, and was told, "No." The reason for this is the positioning of the turn signal lights. The dealer said that I could consider getting custom bags made -- or I could have the lights moved slightly to accomodate something off-the-shelf. Either way, potentially expensive propositions. The dealer suggested that I get either a handebar bag or, if I need a bigger bag, one that will sit on the passenger seat and be strapped/bungied on. My fiance has ridden most of his life and has customized many bikes, and his suggestion to me, if I want saddlebags badly, is to be willing to spend the money. If you go cheesy and cheap, you'll be unhappy with them after a while.
And yes, the Virago 250 is the same bike. They changed the name with the 2008 models, so that it's obvious that they're part of the V-Star line. This is my first bike, and when I get ready to trade up, I'm staying with the Stars. As you go larger, you'll find that there are more accessories to customize the Stars. Go on the website and sign up (it's free) for MyStar. You can customize and get a virtual picture of your choice right online. That's another idea. If you know a place that does custom bike work, take them a MyStar picture and equipment list and ask them if they can retrofit X (whatever option you want) to fit your 250. They probably can..but as I said, sometimes it can be pricey.

saddlebag I bought a pair of cheap leather saddlebags and they turn white in the rain, why?
I bought a pair of cheap leather saddle bags for my bike. When I got them outa the box they had this white powdery stuff on them. I used some leather conditioner and cleaner and it made'em smooth and black. After riding in the rain though, that white stuff if back and its all over the saddlebags. Whats up?

when u toss the bags over one side (front or back ) is curved one is straight.. they are not slanted bags so its hard to tell which way they go.
If you can't tell, than neither can anyone else - so it don't really matter... I don't think they are going to fall off either way.
You might check the manufacturer's website - they might have a picture or something.

You can basically order from many places but I have recently spotted a few very good online shops that give great discounts. Since then I am only shopping for Harley Davidson's accessories from there. Check the resource for that purpose.
