I am 13, long wavy black hair, brown skin, big cat shaped brown eyes, and curvy (36-26-37...but 38 around my saddlebags!!!! )
Do you think the style would work for me, and what makeup and clothes style should i wear, what colours and styles would suit me?
I think anyone can pull off Marilyn Monroe's style! It's 50% appearance and 50% bombshell posture.
Part of Marilyn's sex appeal lied in her jaw-dropping curves. She often accentuated them with high-waisted, curve-hugging pencil skirts and dresses, fitted, tailored suits and fitted sweaters.
Stop Staring clothing makes a fabulous fitted, high-waisted pencil skirt. As does Mode Merr. If you want to replicate Marilyn's look, a few high-waisted pencil skirts are a must-have in your wardrobe. Stop Staring also makes a ton of curve-hugging retro dresses.
You might be a little too young for tailored suits, but if you're interested, check out the vintage clothing section of ebay for some great finds.
Ebay also is a great source for fitted crop sweaters (like Marilyn wore with her pencil skirts) or you can try your local vintage clothing store or online vintage stores.
As for makeup, Marilyn's look was for the most part pretty basic. Most of the emphasis was placed on the eyes and the lips. Red lipstick is a must. Besame Cosmetics is a vintage-inspired makeup company that has a re-creation of Marilyn's red lipstick called "Red Hot Red."
On her eyes, Marilyn wore a beige/champagne color all over her lid and up to her eyebrow, then used a soft brown/taupe in the crease - but not heavily. And then, of course, her trademark black winged eyeliner (which is easily achieved by using a gel eyeliner - like MAC's Fluidline in "Blacktrack" and an angled brush) and lots of black mascara.
For bombshell posture (and by posture, i mean the way you carry yourself, not how straight you stand), check out Laren Stover's book, "The Bombshell Manual of Style." It's a great read and covers every aspect of the 1950s bombshell's life.

Leather saddle Kids are always playing "horsey" on my dog. Where can I get a leather saddle for my dog?
My children love Smuckers, our Cocker Spaniel, so much. He is a huge part of our family. However, they seem to have a fixation of riding him like he were a horse. I though they would have outgrown it by now (my son is 14 & daughter is 12).
Anyway, it is their pet and they love him so much. As of late, Smuckers seems to be a bit slower when the children are riding him & the children themselves complain of 'sore buttocks' from Smuckers spine after riding him.
I figure getting a nice leather saddle tailored for a dog would solve both problems. Smuckers can carry them faster and the kids will be more balanced on top of him. The children would no longer have reason to complain about 'sore buttocks' sitting on a nice saddle.

I have an English leather saddle and i was wondering if water would damage it badly.?
My horse and i had an accident where we went swimming in a river and i need to know if the saddle will be damaged because i was borrowing it. The saddle is a darker brown but there are already some lighter marks on it from before i used it. How much would it cost to have a saddle shop go over it completely? estimates?
The thing to be careful of is how you dry it out. It needs to go somewhere that's room temp at most. If you stick it in a hot room it will dry out really quickly and the leather will crack. Before you set it to dry use a towel to get rid of as much water of the surface as you can and then work some saddle soap into it. Then as it drys out work the saddle soap into it several more times. Once dry oil it with some neatsfoot oil making sure you rub it really well. This should recondition the leather and that will be ok. The other thing to worry about is thr floaking or padding that sits on the horses back. This may clump as a result of getting soaked in which case you need to find a saddle maker to repair it and I don't know how much that would cost. If it doesn't go all lumpy then it should be ok. I would tell the person you borrowed the saddle from. If it was a really expensive saddle and it does require professional repairs then your horse's insurance (provided you have it) should cover the saddle.

Can you use shoe polish on saddlebags?
The leather saddlebags on my husbands bike turned green. Would shoe polish stain it back to black or is there something else out there we could use?
Shoe polish would only hide the greed temporarily. A better choice would be using saddle soap to clean it. Then if it is stained use some acetone to remove old dye and re-dye it.
If you are unsure of this check with your local cobbler (shoe maker). He will usually be more than happy to help explain it and he should have the items you need in stock.
