I keep my laptop in back-pack for work....it's one of the slightly larger Swissgear packs they sell at Sam's & such...I want to be able to quickly drop it in the sissy-bar bag & pull it out w/out messing w/ disconnects, etc. Prefer non-leather/all-weather.I have an '84 Virago 1000 w/ a high sissy-bar.

a 125cc or a 250cc?
Which is the better deal? A 2001 Kawasaki Eliminator 125 that has 3000 miles on it for $1300 or a 2003 Honda Rebel 250 that has 3000 miles on it for $2100? The Honda Rebel also has saddle bags, a sissy bar, and a windshield none of which I care too much about. I want a powerful enough bike to get on the highway with my girlfriend. We weigh about 250lbs. together. I will mostly be using the bike for motorpacing (I'm a competitive cyclist) and getting around town. Would insurance prices be that different based on year and motor size? I'm just torn between the two. Is the price difference worth it? Thanks so much. Thank you SO much for your quick replies (already tonight); I really appreciate ya'll.
The Honda 250 is a lot more bike and worth the extra money, especially if you plan to ride two up.. I am pretty sure insurance will be about the same because they are both small starter size bikes.. You can get a quote on line from Geico or Progressive motorcycle insurance companies...

Barrel bags Where can I find intructions on how to build an aluminum barrel that is rolled and rolls back?
I saw a video clip of it. I'm really interested in physics and would like to know where I can find step by step instructions on how to build it.
There are two ropes at each end tie together inside the barrel. With a heavy sand bag in the middle. I would like to know how its tied and the type/weight of the sand bag ect...
After the barrel is slightly pushed and reaches 0 acceleration it reverses rolling back towards you.
Then the sack of sand must hang in the middle of the 2 ropes, but low to the bottom with sag in the ropes. Rolling the barrel will twist the ropes, raising the sack some.When it stops, the twisted ropes uncurl, reversing the direction. It would not matter if the sandbag turned over if the barrel were pushed too hard forward, so long as it doesn't detatch from the ropes. I would expect the ropes are fixed/ sewn to 1 edge of the bag, perhaps 1 end of it. It would not particularly matter if they are coming together at the centre, so long as they are spaced at the ends of the barrel.

I have a dark palomino mare, and her tail is long and beautiful. I just bought a tail bag today to keep it looking fantastic and help it to grow longer. it's the 3 tube braiding kind.
anyways, my question is: the tail bag itself is red (made out of a nylon-y material) will it turn her tail different colors if it got wet??? i was planning on putting it thru a rinse cycle to be sure, but on the back half of her pasture there is a creek, and i would hate for her tail to be stained pinkish red!!

Nope It shouldn't bleed through! 2 of my horses have white tails and pink tail bags and it never turned there tail a diffrent color.

Ideas to grow a thick, long, healthy tail?
I ride hunter/jumpers. Is there anything I can do to grow and keep my horse's tail long, thick and healthy WITHOUT putting it in a tail bag? I know to handle it as LITTLE as possible, and leave-in conditioner is also a good idea. Right now I hardly ever brush it, and once a week I condition it with Ethnic hair care oil. But is there much else I can do? I would love my horse to have a tail I can show off a little.
Rub MTG into the dock skin twice a week. It has sulfur and oil and it stimulates hair growth. I've heard that dipping the tailbone in cold water daily will also stimulate growth. Seems very unpleasant for the horse, especially in cold weather.
